Samsung has again announced a promising smartphone with really impressive features at a very reasonable price in market. The smartphone named as Samsung Galaxy Grand Duos is a real grand phone. For a brief review, let me tell my readers that this smartphone is a very better dual SIM smartphone than the previously launched Samsung smartphones such as Samsung Galaxy Ace Duos and Samsung Galaxy Y Duos.
This phone has 5 inches display which is huge. The dual camera features of this phone are awesome. The versatility of the phone is proven by 1.2 GHz dual core processor. The resolution of the display can be directly compared to the earlier launched Samsung Galaxy S2 Plus.
Grand Duos has been launched in the direct competition with the HTC Desire SV.
Samsung Galaxy Grand DUOS Review | Features and Specifications
The dimensions of the smartphone are big. The thickness is the part to worry for, which is not like Note 2 or S3, rather it is 9.6 mm. The length and the breadth of the phone are 143.5 mm and 76.9 mm respectively. The phone is quite heavier i.e. 162 grams. However, that does not mean if the phone will be difficult to handle.
The rear pattern makes the phone quite easier to hold. The rear also is reluctant to the finger prints. When seen from front, the phone has the series of sensors and the front camera on the top. The speakers also are present on the same place. The 5 inches display of the phone is of the capacitive type which can bear multiple fingers. The display tends to give resolution of just 480 x 800 pixels irrespective of its huge 5 inches display.
The lower part has the single physical button- Home key- present in the middle. The other two are LED backlit keys, playing the features of the Menu and return keys.
The rear side is packed with the 8 MP rear camera supported by LED flash light. The speakers are also present on the right to the camera.
The left and right sides have Volume Rocker keys and Power On/Off key respectively. The top side has the 3.5 mm audio connectivity jack.
The phone has dual SIM features, both of them having simultaneous standby features. The phone is missing the 4G LTE connectivity feature, which I think is the good move by Samsung as in India, 4G is not that much spread.
The 2G, GPRS and EDGE are supported in this phone. The tri-band 3G band is also supportive in this phone. The phone has Bluetooth v4 with A2DP, LE and EDR features. The wireless connectivity is supported by the Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n.
The phone also has the microSD connectivity slot. There is also a 3.5 mm audio connectivity jack.
The phone has the 8 GB internal capacity. The memory can be expanded up to 64 GB through the microSD card slot available in the phone.
The RAM memory of the phone is 1 GB in size.
The camera part of this phone is the star of the show. The rear camera is of 8 MP size having the 3264 x 2448 pixels. The geo-tagging feature of this phone allows the people to share the photos directly with the location.
The phone holds the camera features such as touch focus, face and smile detection features. The image stabilisation feature of this phone is fine. The rear camera is capable of recording videos at 1080 pixels.
The front camera of the camera is 2 MP in size.
