Design and Looks

I know you must be fed up of the same iterated design in iPhone 5S. It hosts the old basic design with the same display size of iPhone5. However, Apple quotes that it is an achievement to build a smartphone with same size and thickness of its predecessor with such internals.

iPhone 5S is 7.6 mm in thickness and 112 grams in weight (same as iPhone5). And due to the new equipments, the redesigning has been done to make the same looks and thus it could be said as thinnest and lightest iPhone.

iPhone5S has the chamfered edges with the 4 inches display equipped in diagonally on the front. The front camera, BSI sensor and speakers grills are housed on the top on the front and lower the display, there is a round Home button (integrated with finger print sensor) surrounded with the circular stainless steel ring (for finger prints detection).

Apple has changed the connectivity ports in the iPhone 5. It was the lightning connector for the charging and connectivity with PC. A small port was introduced in Apple’s iPhone for first time last year. Same is the case with iPhone5S.

iPhone5S has all the same connectivity features – GSM, EDGE/GPRS, 3G and 4G on GSM variant and the CDMA one hosts the CDMA connections (wireless). It also supports the Wi-Fi connectivity features with hotspot and other features.

iPhone 5S has the nano-SIM tray to carry the SIM card of the network (carrier). 3.5 mm audio connectivity jack is present on the bottom of this device.

iPhone5S comes in various variants varying on their internal capacity. 16 GB, 32 GB and 64 GB variants of iPhone 5S are available in India. You can choose the best one as per your storage requirements.

Since, this device has got the lime light due to its new A7 chipset based upon the 64 bits architecture. So, it becomes the first smartphone on the planet to have the 64 bits chipset. The processor has the clock of 1.7 GHz. It is being said by Apple that this device is twice faster in the performance than iPhone 5.

Moreover, the motion sensing processing will be done by the newly introduced M7 chipset in the iPhone. So, if you are using the motion sensing applications, the core processor does not wake up. M7 is able to hold those all functions and thus saving power for you.

The graphics part is controlled by the powerVGseries 6 GPU.

Operating System

Apple iPhone 5S has got the new iOS version v7 which is launched with this device only. There are many new additions in the device’s software.

Many free applications have been pre-loaded in this device. iPhoto, iMovie, KeyNote, Pages, numbers, iBooks, iTunes U, iTunes Festival, Podcast, Find My iPhone, Find my Friends and Remote are some of these applications.

Touch ID

So, this is new thing you have seen on any smartphone. Although Motorola Atrix 4G had tried the same concept of finger print scan unlock feature but it was a failure. Apple has done the thing for the users to unlock their device with the use of their finger prints.

So, the sensor has been integrated with the home key to sense your finger prints and then send the picture to the processor which will thus decide the phone to unlock or not.

The iPhone 5S has 8 MP rear camera with a back illuminated sensor for low light images. It has many camera features like auto image stabilization, touch focus, auto focus and face detection modes.

Camera is able to capture HD videos in 1080 pixels at the rate of 30 fps. The LED flash has got significant change. It is dual LED which is named as Torch Flash.

The front camera is also called FaceTime Camera whihc is 1.2 MP in size with its own low light illuminated sensor. Moreover, it is capable of capturing HD videos in 720 pixels. It has enhanced the video calling functions which also allows the FaceTime recording feature over a Wi-Fi or cellular network.

The battery of the iPhone 5 is integrated within the device with the power of 1560 mAh. IPhone gives the standby of 250 hours on 2G and 10 hours 2G talk time. Music play will drain out battery in 40 hours.]
